Director's Message
(June 2000) Again, I want to thank the Northwest Regional Clubs that voted for me again. We have accomplished many positive things. The first being is that we have a positive Treasurer, with the help of the clubs who give $1.00 per entry. All the clubs that donate towards, the Regional Awards Show and the Qualifier Show. Should anyone have a question regarding Registration be it Litter or individual registration, I'm here to help. If you just have a question of any kind, I'm here for you and will get you an answer as soon as possible. These past two years, I've had many people email me and ask how to do this or that, and have returned an answer within less than 24 hours. There will be a few new changes this year as for Regional Treasurer, Pam Moser has asked to step down; I've appointed George James. George has been in the banking business for many years. As soon as he and Pam can get together we'll have a current accounting of the Regional Treasurer. We're still waiting to hear from the DoubleTree in Modesto for their final accounting from the show/banquet. This year our Regional Qualifier will be held in Salem, Oregon. I'm still waiting to hear where the 2001 Awards Show/Banquet will be. I have some very excited people looking in the Seattle area. This is a subject that many people have their own opinion where it should or should not be; I'm always open for suggestions. We must remember that these locations need to be planned at least a year in advance. I asked in the last newsletter that club secretaries email me their address, and guess what I did not hear from one club secretary. We want to get you current and up to date information as it happens. This way you can present the information at your monthly club meetings. The six-ring one-day show, that the board approved this month is going to be a blessing to many clubs that don't have the funds to put on a two-day show. If anyone has any questions the procedure to following regarding this format please contact Tom Dent or myself. If you know of someone that gives his or her time with a positive attitude, helps someone, mentors someone and is a positive force in the Northwest Region please let me know. We're going to continue to give out The Northwest Region Service Award, to that special person. Please remember that living in the moment brings you a sense of reverence for all of life's blessings. Sincerely, Lorna Malinen |
