Regional Director's Corner

October 8 , 2010:

GREETINGS TO THE NORTHWEST REGION,

To Members of Region 2:

Last week, as you may know, was the October Board meeting that was held telephonically. At some point in the very near future a full verbatim transcript will be available for your reading pleasure. Rachel is busy working on that now and if I remember correctly it’s over 350 pages and not done yet. My understanding is that there will also be a full pod cast if you want to listen to all 16+ hours of the meeting.

Some information has been posted and I’ve answered a few private emails. If you have specific questions about a particular topic then please email me and I’ll get you an answer.

A big highlight for me was seeing Neil Quigley accepted into the judges training program. I’m sure you all join me in wishing him the very best in his new adventure.

For those of you that might remember Chloe Chung, she was also accepted into the training program and is the first candidate from Asia/South America Division to be accepted.

All the new treasurer information on financial reporting was shared with Tammy and I’m pleased to report that the new system will make regional reporting to CO a less intensive process. Folks that take on jobs for the region do so on a voluntary basis and any time we can streamline systems to save time, energy and money - well, that is a good thing.

The move to Alliance, Ohio has been seen favorably by those that have been in contact with me. This is a sound business decision and should enable CFA to be on sounds profitable footing in a reasonable period of time.

“Meet The Breeds” is proceeding well and I hope as many of you as possible will be supporting this event.

A joint regional fundraising show will be held in Modesto, CA on the #3 weekend in November, and I hope as many as possible can attend this event. The committee has been working hard to provide an excellent judging line up and a fun show. For those attending, we will need help will set-up as we cannot get into the hall before 7PM on Friday evening. Please help if you can.

Please do what you can to support the shows being held in the region. Many shows are facing financial hardships and every gesture is of value…donations for the raffle, an extra entry, donations of time and or money. … It all helps!

One issue to share…Spokane Cat Club has a new name…Motion Carried. Hamza: The Spokane Cat Club is now the North American Blues Allbreed Cat Fanciers. Congratulations to this group of hard working folks.

As you may or may not know, several meetings are taking place on a monthly basis. The #1 Tuesday of the month Jerry meets by telephone with the DALs. The #2 Tuesday Jerry meets with the RDs. The #3 Tuesday of the month is a full BOD meeting. Jerry then discusses happenings on his radio show the #4 Thursday of the month. As a group we are working very hard to do the business of CFA and I am finding out how those minutes will be posted for membership review.

If you have questions/concerns/problems, please be in touch

Regards
Ginger Meeker
